Repositioning and expanding the offering of an iconic name in craft beer

Our approach
Since selling their first beer in 2000, Wylam Brewery has gone on to become one of the industry’s leading craft beer breweries. Upon moving to their new home at the Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, we developed a fresh new identity and website to help with their recent expansion.
The rebrand and application’s since have assisted the brewery in growing their trade globally and building their home into a destination in the heart of Newcastle’s city centre.

Audit & rebrand
Before beginning work on a new identity we carried out an audit of the brand, ensuring any creative produced was informed by a strategic understanding of the company.
With a new tone of voice, customer awareness and mission statement we knew the identity had to be reflective of the breweries quality and heritage.

Creating a new identity
Informed by our research process the new marque is constructed referencing the architectural drawing of the Grand Hall in the Palace of Arts. The marque looks to celebrate everything Wylam is known for: heritage, quality and bold flavours. Applied across printed and online materials, the brand identity comes together to distinguish Wylam as one of the countries leading craft breweries.

Working with TAC is a real pleasure. From early brand directionals through to fulfilment and delivery the process was exciting, creative, professional and to schedule. The TAC team threw themselves into our brand and gave us exactly what we were looking for and more.

Website
A new website helps carry Wylam’s brand language into digital, utilising strong imagery and content to help underpin the breweries unique offering. While a strong beer portfolio is put front and centre, the site also includes information on the brewery’s events, tap room, and hiring opportunities.
